This particular question was asked to me in one of the interview which I found very creative..
Interviewer - One last question, I have two choices for you.. You can chose to go for Job that you are being interviewed for or I can give you higher role (Managerial role with less salary), which one will you go for?
I was like..
He gave me two minutes to answer this question. My understanding of the question was to chose between money & role. Giving preference to money over role was not a good choice but somewhere I also knew that I don’t deserve higher post with my current experience & if I ask for higher role,Interviewer is going to ask me the justifications on how do I suit this role in less experience.
My answer was like this - Sir, I will go for the post that I am being interviewed for. It is not that I prefer money over growth but even if I am given a chance, I don’t think,I am in a position to do the justice with higher role. I would like to make my roots strong in the given position so that I can understand all intricacies in this role & will do better justice when I move to managerial role. It will easier for me to understand subordinates pain areas,difficulties if I go through the same journey.
